Better known for their portable media players, the folks at Archos have recently announced their decision to enter the netbook market with the unveiling of their Archos 10 Mini Laptop. For the most part, their creation stacks up as a fairly standard 10-inch netbook, including the bundled software applications such as Lotus Symphony, Skype, Xnview, BitDefender Antivirus and Outlook Express, though the last one is now a relic, having been replaced with Windows Live Mail now.

Despite the apparently standard setup, the Archos 10 does enter the spotlight when it comes to media, by giving instant access to ARCHOS Media Club, which provides users with video on demand content, as an L40 promotion offer. This allows you to rent or purchase content and download directly to your Archos 10 system. Deezer, another program that comes with the system, will give users access to free music as well. TV programming can also be accessed via vTuner, allowing you to watch approximately 1000 Web TV channels, 10000 Web radio stations and 100000 podcasts.
