Lenovo IdeaPad S12 Netbook

Given the large number of netbooks out there, it’s nice to see something fresh and new every now and then, and the latest headlines are coming from Lenovo and their latest creation, the IdeaPad S12. This is the first-ever Ion-based netbook, using the Ion platform from NVIDIA.
The full-sized keyboard and the ability to (reportedly) provide full 1080p video playback make it feel like a full-fledged laptop, and for just under 3 pounds of weight, you get a 1280×800 LED-backlit panel measuring 12.1 inches, and all for an affordable $449 US.
Of course, Lenovo isn’t about to skip out on the other useful features, so you will find Ethernet options, Wifi, Bluetooth, as well as an ExpressCard slot, VGA and HDMI connectivity and three USB 2.0 sockets for peripherals, as well as a 4-in-1 card reader. The hard drive options include 160, 225 and 320 HDD options. The 6-cell battery provides you with all the power you need, and under the hood you’ll find the usual: 1.6GHz Atom CPU, as well as 1GB of DDR2 RAM.
